Would you like the good news or the bad news?

Okay, here's the good news. I finished another item for the Ravelympics!!! Using this ultra luxurious yarn...Good old Peaches and Cream.

I made 16 of these. I think you could knit these in any design, rather then crochet. They are about 4 inches in diameter.

Then, I made this cool "haekelbeutal". Just found the idea on ravelry. A very creative person named Inga has the pattern in both German and English. Check it out. Very cool. There is one satisfied customer in my house tonight. My daughter has been pining for one of these.

So...what's the bad news? This ugly foot. I managed to step on a sewing needle and it broke in my foot! Thankfully I am on the road to recovery. I think I finished it because I couldn't get around. I have one more cool project to share before the Ravelympics ends. Take care!

I really like don't like 2 at time I have knitted with the wrong needle several time's and find it distracting. Here they are thay are VERY fraternal looking. I also am just learning how to post on a group blog and send pictures!

FO, re-vamped pattern

Well, even though I did not get off to a very good start...I was able to edit the pattern for the skull cap, which as a new knitter, made me feel pretty good!!

It came out very nice, soft and warm! Two more to go as far as hats go, and three pair of snuggly socks....cast on a pair last night while watching swimming and gymnastics.
Hope to get the socks done by tomorrow and cast on another hat!!

Keep up the good work, Go Team Buffalo!

Two FO's and a new event - Laceweight Long Jump

I finally finished the Blanket and matching Baby Beanie. Turned out cute, so I can give to my friend. The hat was a simple half double crochet. See my last post for the pattern. I changed my mind about Cotton-ease yarn. It's great. Washable. Perfect for baby stuff. My next project is supposed to be the Laceweight Long Jump. I am going to attempt the Irish Mist Stole from Doris Chan's Amazing Crochet Lace book. For this project I am using pink Paton's Lacette yarn. There are 5 large motifs in this pattern, so it may be impossible for me to complete in the time of the Olympics. We'll see! I started a few rows last night during the swimming and gymnastics.

Not a good start!

Day Two and I am not off to a good start...being a new knitter I thought I found the perfect, and easy pattern for a warm beanie cap for three Christmas gifts for guys on my list...one son, one daughter's fiance, and one daughter's boyfriend. Cast on some wonderful Mission Falls 1824 wool
and set about my event. Not until I was 90% finished with my cap did I find out that it would be to small for the guys!!!!! It would be a great hat for smaller size heads, it is beautiful, and warm and soft, but still TO SMALL!!!!

Quandary to sleep on, do I finish the hat and gift it to a daughter on my list? I still must find a new, larger, pattern for the hats that I need for Christmas, but at least I would have 0ne leg of the race done for the Ravelympics.....or do I reclaim the yarn and start that hat over so that I finish with 3 hats for guys as originally signed up for??? Oh the ethics of it all.....

I would feel like I am cheating, and I am not a cheater!!!! Go Team Buffalo...I am off to frog the hat and reclaim the yarn. Motrin is on my list of allowable enhancements, I will be stopping at the medical station on my way to the stadium for frogging!

Let's Go Buffalo!

Day 1 : WIPWrestling for me.

Could there be a better day to start the Ravelympics in Buffalo? Not the most delicious of days:) I am eager to finish my project for the WIPWrestling, so that I can move on to new "real" projects. My Bright Baby Blanket is ten rows from being complete and I hope to do a Baby Beanie to match with the left over yarn. The bright colors make up somewhat for this yucky yucky weather!

I am using LionBrand Cotton-Ease for this baby blanket. I have mixed feelings about it. Its a nice, soft, cheap yarn and comes in lots of colors. When I crochet with it, the strands tend to separate. I have also had this issue with Maizy when I used it. Maybe its my technique? Good luck everyone! Heather
